The New Unemployment Numbers and What They Mean For You

It's another dismal economic record. The Labor Department released their estimates of unemployment today. The official rate remains the same as last month, at 9 point six percent.

The official jobless rate has been at or above 9 point five per cent for fourteen months now. That breaks a record set in 1982 and 83, and it's the longest stretch of high employment since the Labor Department began keeping records in 1948.
